Verizon Beats Second-Quarter Expectations and Raises Full-Year Profit Forecast

Revenue from mobile and broadband services rose to $23.4 billion, up 2.8 percent from the same quarter last year. The average forecast was $19.5 billion, according to Bloomberg.

Earnings per share in the second quarter rose to $1.30, up from $1.22 per share in the same quarter last year. The average forecast was $1.27 per share.

For the full year, Verizon now expects profit of $4.99-$5.04 per share, compared with a previous forecast of $4.95-$4.99 per share.
