Venus Williams, who has not competed officially since March 2024, has accepted a wild card to DC Open. The 45-year-old has not competed officially since the loss in Miami last spring.
I am very happy to accept a wild card to DC Open. There is really something special with (Washington) DC: the energy, the fans, the history. The city has always shown me a lot of love and I look forward to competing there again, says the former world number one in a statement.
The seven-time Grand Slam winner has 49 singles titles and 22 doubles titles.
The WTA tournament will be held from July 21 to 27.
