Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto demanded that the United States release former President Nicolás Maduro.
The minister said in a speech to the UN human rights body on Monday that the United States' attack and capture of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, was "illegal."
"January 3, 2026 was an extremely serious turning point," Yvan Gil Pinto said.
