Another nearly 17,000 people were injured in the twin earthquakes that hit the country on June 24. Nearly 18,000 people have lost their homes.
The earthquakes, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 respectively, are the most powerful in Venezuela in over a hundred years and the death toll has been steadily increasing in recent weeks.
