Venezuela earthquake death toll rises to 3,535, nearly 17,000 injured

On Monday, the official death toll from Venezuela's earthquakes almost two weeks ago rose to 3,535. The number of injured is reported to be 16,740, and more than 17,000 people have been registered as homeless in the country as the devastation is widespread.

The first earthquake measured 7.2 and the second 7.5.

The quakes were the most powerful to hit Venezuela in more than a century and occurred within a minute of each other near Morón on the coast.
