4,118 people have now been confirmed dead in the twin earthquakes in Venezuela at the end of June, the government said on Friday local time. In addition, 16,740 people have been injured.
Thousands of people are still missing.
The earthquakes, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 respectively, are the most powerful in Venezuela in more than a hundred years, and the death toll has been steadily increasing in recent weeks.
