The information that the soldiers have been found comes after the vehicle they were traveling in when they disappeared was found underwater earlier on Monday.
On Tuesday, Lithuania's authorities received information that the soldiers had gone missing during a military exercise in the town of Pabrade, near the border with Belarus.
Extensive search efforts have been launched – hundreds of local and foreign soldiers, divers, and other rescue workers equipped with, among other things, excavators to remove sludge from the swamp where the vehicle was found.
"I ask for everyone's respect and solidarity as we wait for further information from our colleagues from the USA", says Lithuania's Defense Chief Raimundas Vaiksnoras in a statement.
