Colorado finished the NHL regular season as the top team and was 8–1 in games through the first two rounds of the playoffs.
Then it came to a complete stop.
Vegas won its fourth straight game last night and has advanced to the finals, albeit with some nerves. Colorado captain Gabriel Landeskog managed to reduce the deficit to 1–2 with just over two minutes left in the game - but the home team, Vegas, held on.
In the final, Vegas will face either Carolina or Montreal, who are playing in the other semifinal series. Carolina leads that series 2–1.
