The support purchases from Växjö municipality and Region Kronoberg – a total of 5,500 tickets over three years – were a requirement for Västflyg to start the air route.
According to the court, the decisions were however unauthorized.
"A decision to pre-purchase tickets for an air route that has not yet been established, but which is assumed to be operated by a single actor, can be considered as unauthorized individual support to a private operator", says the magistrate Noah Tunbjer in a press release.
Västflyg states, however, to P4 that the verdict will not affect the air route between Växjö and Bromma for now.
