The Göta Court of Appeal reduces the sentences for those involved in the murder of a 30-year-old woman in Växjö last year.

The woman and her partner had just come home from the gym when two teenagers started shooting at them. They had no connection to the couple, but had taken on a murder assignment, where actually another person was intended target.

Just like in the district court, a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy are convicted of the murder of the woman and attempted murder of her partner. In the district court, they were sentenced to more than six years in prison, but the court of appeal instead sentences them to closed youth care.

Also a 15-year-old who is convicted of instigation to murder gets the sentence changed from prison to closed youth care. At the same time, a 28-year-old man who is convicted of assistance gets the sentence changed from life imprisonment to imprisonment for 15 years and eleven months, writes Göta court of appeal in a press release.
