Ten billion kronor will go towards maintenance and replacement investments in the company's hydroelectric power plants. In addition, two billion kronor will be invested in several ongoing growth projects.

"Now we want to continue developing our hydropower in order to, among other things, meet increased electricity demand," says Lovisa Fricot Norén, head of Vattenfall's Nordic hydropower, to Dagens Industri.

Furthermore, more long-term billion-kronor investments are being investigated, including a new pumped storage power plant in the Umeälven River.

The investments that we are planning and investigating include both modernization for the next 100 years of operation and new construction at four existing hydropower locations, says Fricot Norén.
