The Pope is still receiving oxygen, but in slightly smaller amounts.

Blood tests have previously shown a "mild, early kidney failure" that is under control, according to doctors.

The Pope has been hospitalized at Gemelli Hospital in Rome since February 14, the longest hospital stay during his tenure.

Catholics are praying for the Pope in many parts of the world. In Rome, nuns and priests from around the world gathered on Sunday to pray and sing for him outside the hospital in Rome.

Late on Monday, Cardinal Pietro Parolin will lead a prayer on St. Peter's Square in the Vatican City.
