Around 20 bus drivers are reported to have taken sick leave in protest against the election advertisement. Several of the bus drivers are said to have a background in Somalia, according to the radio.
Mette Ramquist, press manager at Västtrafik, tells Göteborgs-Posten that they made a misjudgment when they approved the advertisement.
"We did not see the risk to the work environment that later arose. When we found out about this, we acted immediately and decided to take down the advertisements. Our drivers should of course be able to feel safe at work," writes Mette Ramquist in a written comment to the newspaper.
