The speedway team Smederna has not lost a single match at home in Eskilstuna throughout the entire season – until the final.
Västervik won away with 41–37 after the match was forced to end due to heavy rain.
Västervik had a ten-point lead after seven rounds and never relinquished the lead, even though the home team narrowed the gap at the end. After 13 out of 15 heats and a long break due to increasing rain, when many in the audience (a total of 5,111) had already left Smedstadion, it was decided not to continue.
In a week, the second final will be held in Västervik with the home team in a four-point lead.
Smederna have taken four Swedish Championship gold medals in eight years (2017-2019 and 2022). Västervik's only one came 20 years ago.
