A man in Västervik is sentenced to nine years in prison for attempting to murder his partner with a knife, writes Västerviks-Tidningen.
The attempted murder took place during the night of December 28.
The prosecutor stated in their application that "it was only due to temporary circumstances that there was no risk of the crime being completed" since the woman's injuries could have led to a life-threatening bleeding.
The man, who is in his 60s, is convicted despite his denial. He is also required to pay damages of 278,000 kronor to the woman, who is in her 40s, in addition to the prison sentence.
