When the coaches and media, in their usual fashion, predicted the outcome of the Swedish Football League at the opening match, they predicted that VSK would finish in 13th place. Fourteen rounds later, the newcomer has set its sights on something else.
The victory in the newcomers' meeting against Öis takes Västerås up to fourth place, one point behind third-place Häcken.
"We led for large parts of the match, had more of the ball, and created more than they did," home team player Karl Gunnarsson told TV4 at halftime.
Friday's match hero was Axel Taonsa. The striker made it 1-0 in the 13th minute and in the second half he scored his second goal of the day on a volley.
Örgryte is still second.
