Västerås players Sidy Sow and Tim Hartzell each held a Bengal flare when the team celebrated promotion to the Swedish football league. They have each been fined 10,000 kronor.

Västerås secured a place in the Allsvenskan at the beginning of November after a 1–0 away win against Falkenberg.

During the celebration, two of Västerås' players, Tim Hartzell and Sidy Sow, were noticed when they each held a lit flare among celebrating supporters.

The match delegate reported the players and the Swedish Football Association's disciplinary committee has decided to fine both players.

"By holding a burning flare, Sidy Sow and Tim Hartzell have behaved in such a way that the reputation of the sport has been damaged or could clearly have been damaged," the disciplinary committee wrote in its decision.
