The setup means that Konstantin Komarek becomes team captain at home, assisted by Oskar Kvist and Henrik Malmström.
Away from home, it is instead the returnee Niclas Lundgren who wears the "C", with Anton Mylläri and Kim Rosdahl by his side.
The purpose is to spread the responsibility and involve more players in the leadership. Coach Peter Andersson means that several captains make it easier to get the whole team involved.
"We want to spread the leadership to more players in the team this season. You can say that we want to build a "brotherhood" that pulls the whole group with it. In this way, we get more who can drive the team together with us coaches", says Andersson in a statement on Västerås' website.
Västerås starts the season on Friday, when they visit AIK at Hovet.
