VAR gets the blame for City star's injury

The Manchester City star Jack Grealish injured himself shortly after being involved in the leading goal at home against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Now, legend Alan Shearer blames VAR for the injury – this because the review of the goal took four minutes.

It absolutely doesn't help when top athletes have to stand still for almost four minutes. It can't be good for you or your body. It's unacceptable that players have to wait that long, said former striker Alan Shearer on Amazon Prime, according to Daily Mail.

Grealish made a nice lift into the penalty area where Josko Gvardiol chested the ball down to Erling Braut Haaland, who scored the go-ahead goal.

The goal was only approved after a VAR review in the 19th minute. Just over ten minutes later, an injured Grealish was substituted.

City led the match twice, but Real Madrid came back with two late goals in the first leg of the round of 16. Jude Bellingham decided the match with his 3–2 goal in added time.
