The Sedin brothers, Henrik and Daniel, recently took over responsibility for the hockey operations in Vancouver.
First, they hired Ryan Johnson as general manager. Now, the 54-year-old Foote is leaving after one season as head coach, while three assistant coaches are also leaving.
"New coaching voices are needed to chart the path forward," Johnson said in a statement.
Vancouver had a nightmare season, scoring only 58 points in 82 games, the fewest of any team in the NHL.
