With barely two months left until the congressional elections, the Republicans are holding their party convention in Texas. JD Vance, who has been named in some circles as a potential future presidential candidate, directed sharp words at the Democrats in his speech to party supporters.
"They are the party that despises America and the people who built it. They are the party that can sympathize with the terrorists who carried out the September 11 attacks," Vance said.
President Donald Trump, speaking after Vance, said he was “getting a little tired of politics now” and turned some attention - and praise - toward his vice president.
"What an effort he made tonight, the Democrats are getting nervous," Trump said.
