"An operation has been performed to adjust the knee joint and a cruciate ligament operation will be performed this summer", writes the 25-year-old on Instagram.

The right-back writes that he hopes it will be "third time lucky" to come back.

"I'm a guy with big dreams, a guy who wants to stand on the big stages and a guy who wants to play handball", writes the right-back but also means that it feels different this time.

"This time it's more about the uncertainty of not succeeding that's spinning in my head... but I'll give it an honest chance to get back out on the court!"

Chrintz was one of Sweden's gold heroes in the handball European Championship and has a contract with the club team Füchse Berlin 2026.
