Val Kilmer passed away on Tuesday due to complications from pneumonia, according to his daughter Mercedes Kilmer.
The actor was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 but had recovered from the disease, his daughter reports.
Val Kilmer had a long list of notable roles throughout his career. Among his most famous performances are "Top Gun" from 1986, where he played opposite Tom Cruise. He also played the lead role in "Batman Forever", which premiered in 1995.
