The Left Party does not intend to back down from its demand to sit in government in the next term, says deputy party leader Ida Gabrielsson.

"We will only allow a government that we are part of," she says.

The answer comes after Center Party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist's statement that C never intends to accept the Left Party in a government.

It is worrying. The Center's announcement risks leading to four more years of a right-wing nationalist government, says Gabrielsson.

V could consider forming a majority government with all opposition parties, including C. According to V, there are only two possible government alternatives, and if C does not accept this, Sweden will head towards new elections, Gabrielsson says.

It is a question for the C-management to decide whether it is worth it and what they think would change with another election.
