Both V and the Social Democrats, as well as the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR), want government subsidies to be adjusted annually to reflect wages and inflation. According to V, such an adjustment could have given municipalities a few billion more this year.

V also proposes that a commission be appointed after the election, with representatives of municipalities and regions, unions and employers, and experts. It will review the conditions and needs of municipalities, for example whether the elderly population is increasing and what it costs to meet those needs. The commission will produce data for a municipal bill from the government.
