The Chinese drug smuggler Zhi Dong Zhang, who last summer escaped from the authorities in Mexico, has been arrested in Cuba, according to Mexican sources for several media.

The narcotics dealer, specialized in fentanyl, is said to have arrived in Cuba with a false passport after being denied entry into Russia, according to information in Spanish El País.

After the interrogations with him were completed in Cuba, he is expected to be taken to Mexico. From there, he is likely to be deported to the USA, where he is accused of leading a criminal network that, among other things, has worked for notorious Mexican drug cartels.

Zhi Dong Zhang, known by cover names such as "Brother Wang" and "Nelson Mandela", managed to escape after a judge allowed him to be moved from a high-security prison in Mexico City to house arrest.
