Dramatists, poets, dancers, and artists in the USA are protesting jointly against the restrictions on state cultural support introduced in accordance with President Donald Trump's new decree, writes The New York Times.
463 cultural practitioners are asking the federal cultural authority NEA (National Endowments for the Arts) to revoke the adjustments made on Trump's directive to prevent cultural grants from going to cultural projects that "promote gender ideology" or issues of "diversity, justice, and inclusion".
"Abandoning our values is wrong, and it will not protect us", the cultural practitioners write in a protest letter, stating that "art is for everyone and represents everyone".
