With 2.54 minutes left of the overtime period, Tessa Janecke struck and decided the World Championship final against Canada.

And what happened then? USA's female hockey players gathered in a TV puck heap.

The 4–3 victory meant that USA took its eleventh World Championship title, this time after a drama in Ceske Budojevice in the Czech Republic.

USA was mostly in control the whole time, but Canada, which entered the final as reigning champions, responded time and time again.

With 5.48 left of the third period, Sarah Fillier equalized to 3–3, assisted by Emily Clark, taking the final to a "first-goal-wins" situation only to see Tessa Janecke decide.
