The USA will withdraw around half of the soldiers the country has stationed in Syria over the coming months. This means that around 1,000 soldiers will be relocated, according to the Pentagon defense headquarters.
The announcement comes after speculation and media reports of a significantly reduced American presence in Syria following the fall of dictator Bashar al-Assad last year.
According to The New York Times' sources, high-ranking military officials have recommended that only around 500 soldiers should remain in the country in two months.
