The Trump administration has approved the sale of 35,500 heavy bombs to Israel, reports AP.
The US State Department informs Congress that a sale of heavy bombs and warheads worth over two billion dollars has been approved.
Foreign Minister Marco Rubio is said to have motivated the decision to bypass Congress's normal review by stating that the deal constitutes "an emergency" for the USA's national security interests.
The deliveries of the heavy bombs, which have previously been used in Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza, are scheduled to begin next year.
