According to the American State Department, their officials will be looking out for posts and messages that can be seen as hostile to the USA and its government, culture, institutions or other fundamental principles.
Around 1,000 exchange students had their American visas withdrawn in April this year and shortly thereafter, all visa interviews for international students were paused. The reason is not entirely clear, but seems to be that the students participated in protests, mainly linked to Israel's war in Gaza.
