This is announced by the American Foreign Minister Marco Rubio in a post on X.

This concerns visa restrictions against the president but also, among other things, Cuba's Minister of Defence and Minister of the Interior as well as high-ranking government officials.

"While the Cuban people suffer from a lack of food, water, medicine, and electricity, the regime wastes money on its own," writes Rubio.

Thousands of Cubans took to the streets to demonstrate for better living conditions and extended civil rights during the summer of 2021. Hundreds of people were arrested. One person was also killed and many were injured in the events.
