The USA has carried out over 75 air strikes against the terrorist group IS in central Syria, according to the American defense department.
Several leaders, combatants, and camps were targets for the attacks, writes the USA's military command for the Middle East, Centcom, in a post on X.
The attacks were carried out to "ensure that IS does not try to take advantage of the current situation to re-establish itself in central Syria", according to Centcom.
In the air raids, combat aircraft of the types B-52, F-15, and A-10 were used, according to the military command.
The USA's military has repeatedly attacked targets belonging to the Islamic extremist movement IS, and often the raids take place in the neighboring country Iraq.
