Venezuela's president Nicolás Maduro states that the USA has approved that the American Chevron resumes its oil production in Venezuela. Thus, a license that was stopped in the spring has been resumed.
Chevron has been informed that it has been granted licenses that allow continued operations in Venezuela, says Maduro to the TV channel Telesur.
Venezuela is economically dependent on revenues from the oil industry, where foreign companies such as Chevron play an important role.
