The USA has entered into a trade agreement with Vietnam, writes President Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth Social.
Goods from Vietnam will be subject to 20-percent customs duties, and goods that have been transshipped in Vietnam will be subject to 40-percent customs duties. The USA will also get "total access" to the Vietnamese market, according to Trump.
"In other words, they will 'open their market to the USA', which means that we will be able to sell our products to Vietnam duty-free", Trump writes in the post.
It is unclear when the agreement will come into force.
