The International Football Federation's (Fifa) President Gianni Infantino stated this at the European Football Federation's (Uefa) congress in Belgrade.

Infantino says that they have received an expression of interest regarding the World Championship 2031, and it comes from the USA, with the possibility of co-hosting with other nations in the Concacaf region, likely including Mexico.

This could be a similar setup to next year when the men's World Championship will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Only one valid application has been received regarding the World Championship 2035, from the British football association. This means that Fifa appears to have rejected Spain's application.

Spanish football leaders said last week that they hoped to apply for the World Championship, likely with Portugal and Morocco, after previously applying for the men's World Championship with the same setup.

"There is a way for the women's World Championship to be arranged in 2031 and 2035 in some fantastic countries," says Infantino.

Next year, Fifa will decide on the World Championship hosts for 2031 and 2035. The next Women's World Championship, with 32 teams, will be held in Brazil in 2027.
