The meeting was held in Qatar and was a continuation of the Arab League's gathering in Cairo on March 4, when a reconstruction plan was agreed upon. The Arab League united in a common stance since US President Donald Trump suggested that Palestinians would be forced to leave the Gaza Strip – which would then be exploited.
In Wednesday's meeting, foreign ministers from Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the general secretary of the Palestinian PLO, participated.
"The representatives and the US envoy agreed on continued consultations and coordination in a plan that will form the basis for a reconstruction", Qatar's Foreign Ministry wrote in a statement after the meeting.
