The USA's highest court grants President Donald Trump's government the right to revoke the protected status of hundreds of thousands of migrants from four countries.

The court thus dismisses a lower court's decision to maintain the protected status.

This concerns 500,000 individuals from Cuba, Haiti, and Venezuela who have had the right to stay in the USA due to humanitarian reasons.

One of Trump's main campaign promises during the presidential election campaign was to deport migrants. His government has since worked to dismantle the predecessor Joe Biden's policy, which has provided various forms of protection to foreigners.
