300 people have been deported from the United States to third countries after President Donald Trump ordered authorities to speed up deportations, according to a report prepared by Senate Democrats.
In the report, Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen describes the deportations as “costly, wasteful and poorly monitored” and calls for a “careful examination of a policy that is currently largely conducted in secret.”
The State Department has defended the deportations to third countries, saying they are part of Trump's campaign to stop illegal immigration.
