The US State Department has notified Congress that it will move $52 million worth of foreign military assistance from Slovakia, North Macedonia, Tunisia and Iraq. It is not clear how much military funding remains for these countries.
The aid will instead go to Panama, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia - countries that Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited last week and then promised increased support.
The US State Department says the funds will go to "combat narco-terrorism" in the countries' vicinity and "contribute to securing the Panama Canal."
The Trump administration has long promised greater focus on the Western Hemisphere.
The US Foreign Military Financing program enables recipient countries to purchase military equipment from US defense suppliers.
