The US will send two warships, transport aircraft and helicopters to help with the logistics of the rescue efforts.
At least 235 people have died and more than 4,300 people have been injured in the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela on Wednesday.
The United States said on Thursday that it is sending rescue workers and medical personnel to Venezuela and contributing $150 million, approximately SEK 1.5 billion, to aid efforts.
Countries such as Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Mexico have also announced that they are sending emergency aid, rescue personnel and experts.
