A delegation of U.S. members of Congress will meet with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Friday.

The eleven politicians, from both the Republican and Democratic parties, had previously scheduled meetings with several Danish and Greenlandic politicians.

The meeting with Frederiksen comes after the Americans requested to meet her, the Danish Prime Minister's Office announced.

The delegation's visit has been described as an attempt by congressional politicians to add fuel to the fire following President Donald Trump's repeated calls to conquer Greenland.

The threat remains after Wednesday's meeting between Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Greenland's Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt, and US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

They agreed to continue meetings in the future to try to manage the disagreement over Greenland's future.
