“Overnight, U.S. forces conducted a maritime interception and inspection aboard the sanctioned, stateless vessel M/T Majestic X, which was transporting oil from Iran, in the Indian Ocean,” the U.S. Department of War wrote on X.
It comes a day after Iran fired on three ships near the Strait of Hormuz, seizing two of them. Since the weekend, the U.S. has seized an Iranian container ship and boarded an Iran-linked oil tanker.
On Truth Social, Donald Trump called for "shooting and killing" all boats that mine the strait and said U.S. mine-clearance operations there should continue at a "triple level."
