In February, the country's highest court ruled that a large portion of Trump's import tariffs should be invalidated, and the court also opened the door to refunds.
On Monday, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the launch of the first phase of a tool that will allow importers and customs agents to submit documentation to recover payments.
In March, CBP estimated that over 330,000 importers may be eligible for refunds of amounts paid on over 53 million shipments.
In the new system, approximately $127 billion (about SEK 1,159 billion) in customs payments can initially be refunded electronically, according to CBP.
