An American military vessel will be sent to Trinidad and Tobago for joint exercises near the coast of Venezuela, according to Trinidad and Tobago's foreign ministry.
Soldiers from the US Navy will train with Trinidad and Tobago's military, and the vessel will dock in the capital Port of Spain.
Recently, tensions between the US and Venezuela have escalated. In recent months, the US has carried out several deadly attacks, among other things in the Caribbean Sea, against boats that are alleged to be transporting narcotics.
