The Huthi movement's TV company Al-Masirah reports on the information and refers to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior. A further 47 people are reported to be injured.

The US military has initially not commented on the statements about an explosion in Saada.

The US has attacked over 800 targets in Yemen since the middle of last month, stated the US military command for the Middle East, Centcom, in a previous statement on the platform X.

Washington launched its operation "Rough Rider" against the Iran-backed Huthi movement on March 15 and has since then attacked Yemen on a more or less daily basis. According to Centcom, "hundreds" of fighters and several leaders of the movement have been killed during this period.

The Huthis regularly fire rockets at Israel since the war in Gaza broke out in October 2023. Even ships in the Red Sea have been attacked.

US President Donald Trump has previously stated that the attacks will continue until the Huthi movement is no longer a threat to shipping in the area.
