US lifts sanctions on Venezuela's interim president Delcy Rodríguez

Her name was removed from a list of people subject to sanctions on the US Treasury Department's website on Wednesday.

Former Vice President Delcy Rodríguez took over the country's government after then-President Nicolás Maduro was allegedly abducted by elite US soldiers at the beginning of the year.

She has since taken a more pro-US line and among other things accepted President Donald Trump's demand to gain access to Venezuela's significant oil resources.
