US Inflation Drops to 2.4% in March, Below Expectations

Inflation in the USA fell in March to 2.4 percent, from a price increase rate of 2.8 percent in February, according to official figures.

Economists had on average counted on a price increase rate on an annual basis of 2.5 percent.

Adjusted for energy and food prices, the so-called core inflation landed at 2.8 percent in March, compared to 3.1 percent in February.
