The U.S. military has struck around 6,000 targets in Iran since February 28, said U.S. Central Command on X.

More than 90 ships have been damaged or destroyed, including just over 30 minelayers, Centcom said.

Iran has responded with drone attacks against a large number of countries around the Persian Gulf and against Israel. On Thursday evening, Saudi Arabia raised the alarm about drones heading towards both oil fields and air bases, saying the drones had been knocked out.

Further threats from Iran have appeared on social media.

"We will let go of all restraint and let the blood of the invaders flow in the Persian Gulf," wrote Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on social media as a warning if the U.S. or Israel were to attack Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf.

Security chief Ali Larijani wrote an hour later on X about the U.S. president:

"Trump says he wants a quick victory. It's easy to start a war, but it can't be won with a few posts on social media. We will not be moved until we have made you regret your grave miscalculation."

Inside Iran, between 600,000 and one million households, totaling around 3.2 million people, are reported to be internally displaced. The figures come from the UN refugee agency UNHCR.

The number is likely to continue to rise as the violence continues, leading to a worrying escalation in humanitarian needs, said UNHCR's Middle East crisis coordinator, Ayaki Ito, according to AFP.
