The United States is continuing the temporary suspension of sanctions and will allow Russian oil stuck at sea to be sold to other countries, Reuters reports.

The temporary relief from economic sanctions against Russia was initially valid until April 11, but has now been extended until May 16.

The announcement comes just days after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said it would not extend the exemption from the sanctions.
